Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hey Guys,

Not sure whether anyone can help me out, but, no better place than this.

I had a boost/vac hose replaced not long ago and then had all my error codes cleared last night...was driving perfect again, but when i drove it this morning, it's gone back to revving low on idle, give to take just above 600rpm..

can anyone suggest where to start looking? i can't seem to find a vac leak anywhere. It also goes back to normal if i turn the car off and back on again... So it's kinda intermittent.

    Thanks for your help

easiest thing to try is disconnect the MAF and see if the idle goes back to normal, could be a bad MAF
