A shame that a dirty spammer got in, but it did put this thread back in my mind again.

I did end up with the 2003 Bora V6 4Motion...
      Nothing to see here...

          Custom Code for 4Motion

          Hi Gavin,
I know it has been a while since this thread was started, but with an NA car is it only really worth it if you go the full cat back option (Milltek exhaust or similar) first?

If not (I've only done a CAI -BMC CDA) I would be interested in investigating the options. Like qsilverza I am also located in Melbourne. I'm not sure if he is still in the market for this mod (are you Dylan?) or maybe others in Melbourne are interested to make the trip worthwhile for you? Otherwise I might consider going over to Adelaide much as Nathan (sukebe) did. Also, is around $980 still possible given the dollar drop since this was first posted? Interested to know.

            2000 posts up!

tigger, you would naturally find a bit more go with an exhaust fitted. The gains would be amplified, if you like, with a replacement system fitted but I wouldn't say it's obligatory to have the exhaust done.

A customer in Canberra, the first 4-motion I flashed, had a system fitted. I think it was Milltek. It sounded fantastic and complemented the software.

If you and Dylan were interested, then I'd come and do the job in Melbourne no probs, for $1100 each. If we can't do that, you can ship me the ECU and I'll pay for the shipping both ways. ie You send me $1070 or if you drive over, I'll give you $50 towards the petrol.

Let me know what you think.

            Gavin

              Thanks Gavin.
So I hear what you are saying about the exhaust but is it still reasonable improvement without doing the exhaust? I'm not sure if Nathan travelled over before or after installing his Miltek (around the same time according to his posts) - I was hoping my money tree grows a bit before I do that mod

I'll wait to see if Dylan chimes in with his plans (or other Melb users) before I make up my mind.
              Cheers,
              David

Hey Tigger, I got the remap before the exhaust, but given the remap is generic (i believe?), adding the exhaust before or after will not make a difference as the map does not account for it, but the stock computer will adjust to accommodate it (Gav, chime in and correct me if I'm wrong).

If you like, next time I'm heading up to the hills for a squirt I could take you in my car, see how it compares to yours. I can put the stock wheels back on so you have a true comparison as the 18s I have now do slow it a little.

That's the way things work Nathan. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the offer and the advice Nathan. If you do, don't worry about changing the wheels as I'm using 17" wheels anyway so not a huge difference
                      Cheers,

                        Old thread revival!!!

I got Gavin to flash my V6 Bora about a month ago and I still notice the difference it has made. I know we are not talking massive gains ie roughly 10%, but the satisfaction is the new power delivery, the engive seems to rev smoother in the low range and noticeable gains in the mid to high range.

I know Gavins going to be in Syd for the nationals, so if your interested, I high recommend you speak to him.
