The combo I was looking at:
Getting the 42DD Value Line 3" Down Pipe.. With Street Series Cat and 2.5" adapter..
42 Draft Designs
VW Mk4 1.8T Value Line 3" Downpipe

And a 2.5" Cat Back like the 42DD.. With either hidden tip, or single 4" tip..

Or get one of these Magnaflow mufflers and get the catback piping made up locally for it.. ?

I got the 3" street series downpipe from Greg its great I have it mated to the stock pipes no resonator and to a Remus muffer it sounds great can post a video later. If you do go the 42 draft grab some transmission bushes too they make changes feel so much nicer.

Yep definitely keen on the 3" 42DD 3 piece 200 cell catted DP version with 2.5 adapter. Could also be keen on be 2.5 resonated cat back with dual single wall tips. Both in the normal mild steel is fine with me.

let me know if you can get a decent price and something going even if we have to pay a deposit/50% up front or whatever as I assume it'll take a while to make and ship etc.

Nah, i've got the K04-001, that downpipe is for S3/TT K04-020/022.

ok, so it 4 of us so far:

Swainey32 - 3" to 3", dual tip dual double wall
Traedayz - 3"to 2.5", dual tip single wall
Kenbot - 3" to 2.5", hidden or singel 4"
Me - 3" to 2.5", dual tip single wall

Side note, so does the K04-001 just bolt on like the K03s does it? If I upgraded the turbo later (when I have money again) to a K03s/K04, would the 42DD DP still bolt straight on?

(I'm looking at a simple bolt on turbo upgrade (basic 2nd hand in GC), the exhaust is my main priority!).

Yup the k04-001 will bolt straight in, it's basically a k03s with a slightly bigger turbine iirc

You'll need a new tip for the k03s/k04 too, I think Lito and Gav were doing some custom ones

cheers for that octo, I'd be keen to hear how your setup is working, how much did your 'cat back' setup cost to get made up?

No worries its a bit of a cut up really. First I had the resonator cut out at a local shop for $50 bucks the rest was stock, was louder but didn't really do much other than the sound (wasn't that great at all really).

They had the Remus muffler for an Audi sitting there so I got that installed for $350, it made it sound a lot better and it opened it up being a straight through it felt better mid to high range.

I don't think it would cost much at all to get it made in 2 1/2" if you go in with the muffler you want and the dp its mid way on the car till the muffler and only a few bends. Also I installed the dp myself with the car on jack stands I got the three piece just so I could do that
