Thought i would start a thread on my bora, The mrs has finaly bought a new car which means i finally get to drive my dub So let the fun begin

    Future mods:

    Wheels + lowered
    Alarm
    Headlights
    Exhaust
    ICE
    Tints

First started working on the car about 6 months ago with my Custom sub enclosure
Learned alot from the build, and i have been thinking about continuing the build. I feel that in order for me to achieve my goal, im going to have to slightly dismantle part of the sub and redo it. but this will become clearer in time.

Got the car off the mrs last weekend.
Fitted replacement mirror glass on NS (mrs hit a bush) and replaced OS mirror with matching blue tinted OEM style. (ebay from UK)

    7-8/9/2013

Clay barred the entire car what a difference it made. If you have never used one i suggest you buy one, They are awesome!

    15/09/2013
Sorted out the misty headlamps. (to be replaced with Glass units from Dylan8 co-op)

That's a big difference - before and after - with your headlights. Makes a huge difference in looks - any difference that you've noticed with the light output when driving at night? Any other photos of your car?

    Cheers.

Yes. The light distribution is better I would it has improved by up to 25% well worth doing If you have a few hours spare.

Not hot to many pics of the car yet, as its mostly stock. Here is a pic taken near mount panorama ( early morning)

Thanx Dylan, the rear lights are standard. The lighting in that pic makes them look all red

realised why this has never sat flush on mine, wiring comes out of the headunit right at support.
think ill get away with just cutting parts of it.

Just my imo, that bumper looks rubbish... get a Rline, R32 rep or something else OEM (new valance). or stay factory, not like the front looks bad as is

                        Update.

OK so eventually got donor car home last weekend.
                        Gonna start stripping it tomorrow.

Bought a box of Stinger expert sound deadening

                        http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...kZTRcO4kDN9l5A

Have been looking about for a repair manual. got a UK haynes manual coming from ebay, but it unfortunately it doesnt cover my engine. 2.3 l V5 20V AQN

Spent a few week looking for a manual or something to no avail. Somebody on another forum (VW employee (or at least had access to)) hada pdf of the VW AGZ 10v engine.

So looking like a 20v manual doesnt exist??

I found what looks like a VW training manual for the AGZ. It is actually quite interesting and worth a look.

                        http://www.volkspage.net/technik/ssp/ssp/SSP_195.pdf

Quick question for anybody that can answer...

I understand that the v6 4M will have a different drivetrain and suspension parts to the V5, but as V5 doesnt show up on ECS so should i chose 1.8 T / 2L etc??? ( so i get the right bushes for my suspension etc)

Pretty much confirmed that it is a coil. i think.
Need 1 of these now i should probably replace 3 and 4 but 3 at the very least. (money tight at the mo)

with the intention of replacing with a full set eventually.

Have you swapped the coils around just to confirm it is the coil, and not a problem getting signal to the coil ?
The V5 looks different, but for what it is worth the 1.8T has a module which signals each coil to fire. When this goes it appears that a coil is dead but is not.

Hmm no, I didn't check that. Tbh though based on the overall condition of the coil I am pretty sure it's that. If there is a controller that's gubbed them I'm not gonna be happy
