If you go to any of the auto accessory chains and tell them what you want they will know what you are after. I doubt that Bunnings will have one.

Try SuperCheap, Auto One, Autobarn, Robbo's, Repco, etc.

Once you've got that Ryco filter off (553 by any chance?)
      Find one of these,

And buy Genuine Mahle/knecht or Mann filters and never go through this again.

        Just one more thing.

When you do get it off, if you decide to replace the oil filter yourself, NEVER use a tool of any type to tighten it. These filters are designed to be tightened by hand (no tools) only. Some filters used to have a hexagonal nut built into the end to help removal, but some people ended up using it to tighten it. As a result, these nuts were dropped.

Anyone know if these tube are easy to source from the dealers?
Dipstick tubes available from the dealers for about $20. I fitted 1 last week.

Take your VIN with you so I cam ensure you get the right one.

And since you'd be throwing the old filter away, I'd follow the suggestions above and stab it with a screwdriver.

Handy for difficult jar lids, too! They're in the section that has power tools, etc.

Thanks guys will have to give it another go today after I get back from the dealer. Might end up using the screwdriver trick as it's quite tight in that area

All the strap band filter removers are terrible..

I bought this one and its the boss... Highly recommendly.

It doesnt crush the filter, even pressure is applied and its like having king kong grip on any filter and twists it off with ease.

Just noticed the ebay store is named wang wang LOL

Problem the OP has is that the filter is too long and there appears to be no room at the end to get a puller like that in and put a Handle on it to turn it Well thats what the original photo shows with the hose almost hard up against the end

The one you bought at Supercrap should work if you use it correctly Slide it onto the filter EXACTLY in the way its shown in the pic on previous page Put the handle downward at 4 oclock and pull upward.
They are designed to self tighten and can loosen some really tight filters I have found.

When you put the new one on smear some of the old oil on the rubber O ring and hand tighten it only.

Check the old filter when you get it off to make sure the old O ring hasnt stuck to the block or you will end up with all the new oil on the ground in a very short time.

Did it ONCE and left sump plug out ONCE as well ROFL

                                Help on removing oil filter

So managed to get the sca strap wrench around but still ain't budging + don't have too much room to work with..

Should I just leave it on with the new oil? Just for a few weeks until my next service?
