Mate no chip will bump up compression. Compression is set when built. Major engine work req to change this and why would you want to??? And like Graeme says it would be criminal to run 91 or the likes in the R32

That's what I mean. It was lowered by VW to be able to run 91. I'm never ever going to do this so I was wondering if it was something that can be changed easily to give more power but only allow 95 or higher.
I'm still a relative mechanical newbie...
D3bb4, the mod is bad I think but in the end I don't think we lose out on any power to the Euro spec cars (US has more due to Audi intake I believe).

new pistons. compression is a mechanical thing, not something software can alter
Small update on my new toys. I gave the BMC CDA filter a good clean with a K&N filter cleaning kit this afternoon. Will lightly oil it tomorrow once it dries and fit the BMC. I finally got the intake hose fitted down the gap. It's a pretty tight squeeze but it just fits.
You have to remove the lower headlight surround and relocate a cable connector in a holder but it all fits (just). Oh and you need to make sure you rotate a ground wire else there's a chance you could snap it off.
Once I found the 1.8T CAI instructions on the Neuspeed website with photos it was pretty easy.
It's a shame EIP went under because I found a million and one references to their video.
Updates tomorrow once it all goes in and I have had a test run.

Yep know that now. I've learnt two things today. This is the second.
The first is that blond is for males and blonde is for females. They are derivatives from anglo French (don't ask).
Cheers,
Trent

You could have just looked at the install pictures in my gallery as Guy took a bunch when they fitted it initially as it was the first one into an R here. Anywho if you need them they are here http://images2.rdefined.com/v/AlWalker/album402/ on page 2 or 3 or 4 , I forget which.

Ah is that where your other albums hide. I had a look through your switftel one (the one you didn't know still existed) but couldn't find anything. It wasn't too bad getting it all in though.
The Neuspeed guide also has it without having to remove the bumper and light assembly.
Cheers,
Trent
Woo! BMC CDA is installed. I went for a quick 10 minute test drive and all seems good. Didn't notice any real difference yet though. Did a quick scan with my V-Checker afterwards too and no fault codes so I'm happy.
Some photos of the CDA installed.
And I know we've all seen them a million times before but here is mine.
So ... your new brakes in too, Trent? Are you going on Saturdays cruise?
Dave
Nope.
I'm picking those up tomorrow but I couldn't get a booking with Jimmy until the 30th (another ).
I'm thinking of coming along to the meeting point first thing in the morning to say hi but not going to come along for the drive. Hopefully will be able to do the next one.
