Yep I'm stoked with my v3's. Only issue I have is they've got about 20mm left on the threads and it's not nearly low enough for me.
(In before I get called a douche for wanting to lower my R32)

KW do offer lower springs to suit the rear shocks of their coilovers. The fronts should have enough in them to lower it to a nice height. If you want really low I guess you could pull out the front helper springs but I'm not sure what sort of ride quality you would get after that.

Yeah I haven't really bothered experimenting yet cus I still need adjustable arms and camber tops, but after that I'll be having a play.
Didn't know about the shorter rear springs though! That's cool!

Definitely worth having the adjustable rear arms, I need a second set for mine since I've lowered it. I didn't know about the springs either until JIG from vwgolf.net.au mentioned them in his thread. Certainly something I want to get myself someday.Originally posted by ffoff View PostYeah I haven't really bothered experimenting yet cus I still need adjustable arms and camber tops, but after that I'll be having a play.

Thanks for the advice fellas!
Who did you purchase from Jed? I have a guy who's quoted me $2300 shipped to my door for KW Variant 3's. Would you say the ride quality is much more comfortable and compliant compared to the stock suspension?
I heard that KW offer the option of having lower springs that can further drop the car by 20mm-25mm. Would it be possible to wire up a switch where I can choose between comfort and sport settings?Last edited by robbie; 08-10-2013, 11:41 AM.

I purchased them through Mike Weber at Prestige & Performance (my mechanic also) they were on special. $2300 to your door is a great price, although local support is also good for peace of mind (maybe give preeny at tpr engineering? a call and see what he can do as well). The ride quality improved for me - more progressive. So I feel all the bumps but it is less crash and bash on big ones. My shocks were pretty tired though when I replaced them.Originally posted by robbie View PostThanks for the advice fellas!

Lower springs wouldn't be a bad idea, especially if you want that 'stanced' look. No, it wouldn't be possible to wire up a switch as they are a manual adjustment. DDC is KW's electronic adjustment kit. I'm not sure if they make an off-the shelf option of this for the R32 (they may be able to do a custom one though if they don't). Adjusting means jacking the car up, taking off the wheel and turning the dials.No. 164 - HPA Competition Haldex Controller, KW V3's, Southbend Stage 2 Singlemass Flywheel, Simota Racing Air Intake

Shoot me a PM Jed with the price you paid for the KW V3's through Mike @ P&P. I am yet to get a quote off Chris Preen @ TPR Engineering, knowing that it's important to support the local dealers. Is there a price gap between the V3's and DDC version?
Appreciate all the insightful info guys!

Robbie, I don't think there is a DDC version on the Mk4s.... You can step up into a set of clubsports but they're around the 3-4k mark from memory.Originally posted by robbie View PostShoot me a PM Jed with the price you paid for the KW V3's through Mike @ P&P. the new part you received isnt like an adaptor of sorts? do the amber plates sit on top of that new part at all?

As far as I can tell it doesn't fit... I will try and test fit it tonight though. I don't think it would from what I've seen, but there's always a first.Originally posted by ffoff View Postthe new part you received isnt like an adaptor of sorts? do the amber plates sit on top of that new part at all?No. 164 - HPA Competition Haldex Controller, KW V3's, Southbend Stage 2 Singlemass Flywheel, Simota Racing Air Intake

it almost looks as if the new part is an upper spring perch or something, that's my thinking anyway.

Yeah, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to mate to the camber plates. Which I hounded who I bought it off about making sure I was getting the correct part (replacement part).Originally posted by ffoff View Postit almost looks as if the new part is an upper spring perch or something, that's my thinking anyway.No. 164 - HPA Competition Haldex Controller, KW V3's, Southbend Stage 2 Singlemass Flywheel, Simota Racing Air Intake
