That sucks man! It's bad enough waiting for parts in the first place let alone the replacements for incorrect ones

So this arvo I discovered big problems
I was driving in the city and pulled over to pick my girlfriend up. While sitting there for a few seconds the car started to vibrate really badly. I didn't know why so I gave it a rev to see if it would calm the idle down. It didn't. I turned the car off and then on again and that didn't help either. It sounds like a WRX boxer engine
Here's some footage. It is a lot more exaggerated in real life than in the footage but hopefully one of you wise gentlemen can give me some clues as to what's happening
Any ideas guys?
Cheers! No. 164 - HPA Competition Haldex Controller, KW V3's, Southbend Stage 2 Singlemass Flywheel, Simota Racing Air Intake

Yeh I think it could be. We found the same cylinder misfiring again and when we looked at the coilpacks cylinders 1, 2 and 3 all had small bits of corrosion on them. It's either coilpack, coilpack harness or injector we think... So gonna see if VW will replace my coilpacks tomorrow under the recall scheme as mine were never done. I'm not sure if mine were actually ones that needed doing though. So we'll see...No. 164 - HPA Competition Haldex Controller, KW V3's, Southbend Stage 2 Singlemass Flywheel, Simota Racing Air Intake

Jed, you'll have to call them with your VIN first and see if yours will be covered. You'll still have to wait for them to order the parts anyway...
Try and pull coil 5 & 6 to check them if you already haven't.. Did you catch up with Erin to scan the car?

Hmmm,
I don't think the plugs and coils are the issue mate. Like I said both my plugs & coils were corroded and it didn't sound like a WRX. It felt rough on cold mornings but that was it...
I think you'll have to look further past that. Did you scan the car? Was there any codes that would point to the problem?
VW will have to order in the coil packs mate... You might get lucky if Sydney/Melbourne have some stock otherwise you'll have to wait for replacements to come from asia or europe. But you'll still need to call and give them your VIN to see if you fall in that recall cycle.

I would say it sounds like an spark issue.
I know on the 1.8Ts its common for heat to wreck the coilpack harness over time, I wouldnt have though there would be as much heat in the VR6 bay though.
If your not in the Recall list might be worthwhile upgrading to TFSI coil packs, would probably be able to get them quickler than OEM ones if VW/Audi dont have any, Audi told me a 4 weeks wait for 3 washers!

The VR6 engines run surprisingly hot, they're even worse when they're force inducted.
The TSFI coilpacks won't work. The connectors for the TSFI coils are on the side whilst the 24v VR6 connectors are on the top due to the lack of room from the intake manifold.
The wiring from the coils looked fine. There was a strange noise in the bay around the TB region but I could determine whether it was simply muffled SMF rotational noise as Jed was holding the clutch in. You couldn't hear it over the SMF chatter...
Rev & approx L/hr were about on parr where they should be despite how rough the car was running.
