If you're referring to Mk IV (not Mk V like the post abouve yours) ECS Tuning has a conversion kit, or you can retro fit one off a 9n3 Polo I think (might need some adaption around the spindle cover)

Snowy, there's a wiper thread over in the MkVI section, I'm going to post a link from there to your excellent tutorial.

Thanks for this tip - I picked up some of the Repco rubbers for my Jetta today after being quoted $45 per blade by one of the local dealers . The RRPN24's are up to $13.99 now, but fitted perfectly. Very simple DIY job.

          Cheers,

The Aunger ones? I couldn't find Tricos at my local KMart.

I used the Repco ($19 less 20% this month) plastic backed blades for our Mk6 and 9N3 Polo as these have a full width, flat retaining section (the bit that holds the blade in) like the original blades (just had to remove the plastic backing). Most of the refills have a narrow retaining section and I was worried these could pull through the groove

Yep They had a generic blue one and the Aunger ones with graphite.
Hmm graphite gets on your fingers dunno how it helps clean the windscreen though.

I think the graphite helps by stabilising the rubber vs UV and also lubricates the blade against the glass to prevent squeal.
I'll try a set of the Aungers on the in-laws Camry

Graphite don't help the wipers when its all over my fingers
I assume there is enough stuck on there to not just wash off on the next rain.

So the refills I got from Repco had a plastic backing which doesn't fit. But if I remove the plastic backing the groove in the rubber would be too shallow and just pull out. Where do I get the right refill blades which are just the rubber section and nothing more?

                              Which refills did you buy?

I specifically bought the Repco branded 6.5mm plastic backed refills since they have the full width holding section. There's no way these would pull out without tearing the rubber

Yeah, seems I chose poorly - go the Trico ones. I gather they have some others which are better suited so I'm heading back tonight.
Hopefully I can find ones that work.
