haha, this has turned into an ecs/ups delivery update thread...
UPS called up home informing of taxes and duties due. (didn't know they did it on behalf of australian customs...)
$369 due, OUCH! (didn't know they added about $60 of fees on top of the other taxes, pricks!)

i bought this:
ECS Tuning - Cart
value approx AUD$2200 including shipping
it's 5% duty on cost of goods, and 10% gst on cost of goods, delivery and duty, so very roughly a 15% tax which is $330 (actually works out to be a bit less), but then they charge you an $11 "security fee", and then a $55.20 "Customs entry fee" or "formal declaration fee"
i mean wtf, never heard of those fees ever, and i did read up a bit: When buying over the internet
no mention of fees thereLast edited by McDub; 21-07-2010, 09:51 PM.

but my mechanic said at that km its just been broken in! good old VWs!
getting another front sway bar fitted so apparently the car is in pieces at the moment and wont be ready until tomorrow.

woot!
UPS said it would come tomorrow, but it came today instead!
was very lucky someone was home, almost missed them.
and also a double woot because i didn't realise the H&R sport springs were progressive (they look linear on the ecs site pic)
