UPS called up home informing of taxes and duties due. (didn't know they did it on behalf of australian customs...)
$369 due, OUCH! (didn't know they added about $60 of fees on top of the other taxes, pricks!)

I got a K04 with install kit, 4Bar FPR and a trim piece I've been needing and it came in under the $1000 limit somehow! And a second package of Hella taillights and H&R rsb is still on backorder...

Yeah I always just multiply by 1.15 to get after tax price. But it's not that bad really, it would cost at least that in fees for a broker anyway. I actually like using UPS just so I know I don't have to worry at all about sorting out import tax, it's all taken care of. Though it is strange that orders just over $1000AU don't get taxed. I've had two or three $900-1000US orders which should be over the limit but never got taxed

I believe it depends if the stuff is manufactured in the US.
If so I think its covered by the free trade agreement

Two of the orders were all german stuff from TMT and I don't think KKK is a US brand. Customs just doesn't seem very consistent these days, to our benifit

but my mechanic said at that km its just been broken in! good old VWs!

getting another front sway bar fitted so apparently the car is in pieces at the moment and wont be ready until tomorrow.
