Originally posted by pauld View PostThe OEM euro skid plate is a good thing, its just really there for my peace of mind. After hearing what happened to r32uberwagen's r32 I wanted something to protect the engine etc. Ive had it on for a couple of months and it has already been scraped a couple of times. On a recent cruise, after going down a large hill (at speed) the car bounced through a large dip. I was glad I had the skid plate then. Better the plate than the sump. I'm currently not that low, and the the skid plate does reduce ground clearance (probably by 5cm or so) quite a bit so be mindful of that if you are planning to go ultra low. The plate has also really firmed up the front end a lot as well. For your daily car, which my r is (at this stage!) I recommend it.Originally posted by 83_SUS View Postjust googleing and there are also 2 other brands of skid plates avail.

I remember uberwagen mentioning 'panzer plate' cos I googled to see what he was referring to at the time, so he may have got the Dieselgeek one as well...Last edited by geoff_gti; 07-07-2010, 10:50 PM.'03 BMP MkIV Golf GTI | Oettinger tune | K04 | 18" OZ

well it looks like the chumps from UPS have sent my package from ECS back to the states.
a) I wanted ECS to ship to my work address, but they wouldnt, so had it sent to my home
b) they tried to deliver to my house, but I was at work, so left a message to call them
c) I indicated that they should deliver to my work, which they said was ok
d) package didnt arrive, and tracking now indicates is in Kentucky!

That's why you get them to send stuff with USPS...it just goes to the local post office if you are not home....plus about 1/3 the price.
Very interesting tracking a package with Fedex etc...three days to get from US to Sydney (tops) and then it takes at least two or three days to get from Sydney to deliver to my Brisbane address.PM if you are looking for: R32 rear sway bar; R32 suspension springs; Euro Headlight switches

i've been waiting almost 3 weeks now for ECS to ship an order of mine... so painfull.
manaz you reckon you'll get the council to pay for damage to your car? I remember there being an acurrent affairs program recently that was about that exact issue.
not sure what they said though cos i didn't watch it, just saw an add.
