Installed new turbo ,manifold and Tip ....... and found part of the old turbo turbine wheel in exhaust

Oh, had a complete windscreen replacement too - OEM, done through insurance (copped a star crack in the drivers view area, so new windscreen required).

my 4 mo is running rough again.driving today it cut out and lucky for me it started right up but after that it idled rough and had lost its balls

felt like a 4 cylinder.i love this car but not this week

Picked up some Recaro's out of an older GTI for cheap, gave them a good clean with a Rug Doctor and was amazed at the amount of crap that came out of it as well as the old seats. Unfortunately I'm having trouble with the wiring harness for the seat bag and it's throwing a code about high resistance. Hopefully it's just my cruddy soldering job rather than incompatibility

Speaking of which, anyone after some decent GTI seats out of an '02? (can't post in the classifieds forum since i'm too new)

The recaro's are out of a 99 vw golf/polo gti from japan and i'm trying to put it into an 02 gti. the wire colours are the same (black brown blue and white brown blue) however no matter how i try to connect it i'm getting cels. i've tried to solder the 02 gti seat connectors to the 99 wiring, cut the connectors from the seat and car wiring and used different connectors (molex style) and no luck. anyone have any ideas or am i sol?

might possibly be 1 of 2 things. if your car is drive by wire then could be CAN bus, as i believe the early golfs were different. Secondly early golfs have a different Comfort Control Module only has 1 input rather than 2 found in the 2000 model up. so not sure if the Airbags use the CCM for anything but maybe worth investigating.

Should be careful when dealing with airbags they can explode if your swapping wires around to test. upload some pics of connectors!!

iv seen a few problems on UK/US websites about swapping the seats. I was under the impression its from the year change. 2001.5? But it doesn't follow that rule apparently
