does it resonate engine noise back up? or does it do the opposite, and insulate against resonated noise bouncing back from the road?

I hav'nt noticed an increase in noise due to the skid plate. Could do I guess. My car is pretty loud anyway so I probably wouldn't notice.

Pretty sure Trent had the diesel geek panzer plate on his r. I'm sure he can give you info.

I'm considering the Dieselgeek Panzer Plate plus "full metal jacket" setup rather than the OEM one from ECS - it also acts as a lower stress brace for the subframe, meaning you don't need to fit a separate lower brace, and it replaces the two plastic side pieces as well (the OEM skid plate does not).

Yep, it does seem to hug the sump and other bits underneath the car nice and tight. The OEM plate sits a bit proud of them.

its not the drop in clearance that i think is particularly worrying.

I'm currently not that low, and the the skid plate does reduce ground clearance (probably by 5cm or so) quite a bit so be mindful of that if you are planning to go ultra low

This is im worried Dyldo, +5cm will only leave 1cm clearance under my car... and thats without fat chicks! haha

Id be keen to see prices also. might have to get some bigger tyres though...

Sitting in the back is over rated...(rear seats removed, **** theyre heavy!)


Working out the best way to put in a false floor in the back, will be putting the sub and amp in it, as well as a bike holder. Should be good! Need to get my unibrace now.
