What have you done to your mk4 (golf/bora) today?

    Installation was a doddle. Mine just sits inside the drivers door, and hooks into the door control module. I haven't as yet connected it to the indicators (I'm pretty lazy) but have installed the wiring from the unit through the door rubbers so I don't need to remove the door card again.

    Satisified? Hell yes! It locks and unlocks, with a very impressive range. What more could you ask from a keyless entry system?
    Thanks I may have to do this. I have no remote locking ATM, so nothing to recode. I'd just move the transponder from my spare key.

        We'll see...saving up for suspension at the moment so I doubt it but I had thought of that. Hopefully can pick up a 2nd hand cluster for a reasonable amount, as insurance only covers the windscreen unless I want to fork out an excess - which would likely be more than the replacement headlight costs anwyay.

          Think I mite be following your lead! Mine didnt come with remotes either. I think Im going to go for the flip key ones. Any idea where you can get the keys cut onto the blanks that come in those kits, and how much you'd be looking at? I assume you couldnt just get it done at any old key cutting joint. And what do you mean by moving the transponder from the spare key? Is that the little black notch thing at the base of the key?

            I don't think it matters if you get the top of the wheel in with camber though, I have a feeling the whole wheel has to be inside the arches when you look vertically down from above the arch, so that you can't see any of the wheel at all... Though you'd hopefully get away with it

              Yeah i know... already had that lecture. I think if the top is pulled in a bit it doesnt stand out so much. Dont know if the local cops care as ever second 4x4 around here runs tyres miles outside the guards . I shall find out though...

                    • Finally got my replacement 6000k xenon bulbs installed, in 15mins

                      Took off my Cupra Lip and trial fitted my new lip which was supplied by Mr JLT. Subte look.....
                      Needs to be secured, so Cupra lip is back on....

                      Getting some 3M carbon Fibre wrap this afternoon.

                      Then a nice polish on Saturday preping for Show & Shine on Sunday.

                        The immobiliser works by RFID, there is a small glass transponder chip in each key. I have a key with a light and you can pop off the top easily to get to the chip. The other key I have is solid and it would need to be hacked to death to get it out, or some programming would need to be done on the car.
