I actually had it sold, was about ten minutes from leaving the house to give him the car when I realised I couldn't do it. This car, like an aggressive cancerous tumour, has become quite attached to me and I to it.
So how much was the deal for ?
Just out of interest, as 10K is about twice the going rate for a normal Mk4 GTI.
MK4 GTI - Sold
MK5 Jetta Turbo - Sold
MK5 Jetta 2.Slow - Until it dies.
Wow amazing! The amount of work you have put into that car has been phenomenal. Great to see you have kept it.
Was it a hard task to swap over to the me 7.5?
Me7. 5 was actually pretty simple. I had and auto loom so I had to re-use my old speed sensor but the connections where the engine loom meets the main loom was all plug and play. The only real issue is the physical mounting of the dBW throttle pedal, you have to pretty much make your own bracket but it's not that tough, also threading the o2 sensor harness through the side of the Subframe is a bitch.
Anybody looking to put a bigger than k04 turbo on their agu should definitely plan to do this mod as well.

Yeh it's just not any normal mk4. I could only speculate as to how much cash Carlos has spent on his car. But just from the mild mods I have done on my car, 10k was an insane deal for people who appreciated the mods that he had on his car. 9k is just crazy. But i guess this this is the market for mk4s. Read his build thread of you get a chance, quite a write up.
Yep i know the car and the man.
I bought his old shocks and springs for my gti years ago.

Haha yeah you came to my rescue when my wheel almost fell off!! At the end of the day it's still a 16 year old car and most people will value it accordingly. That's why I'm keeping it, in way too deep now haha
It is now obvious to me that when VW designed the spark plug/intake relationship on the 1.6, all the German engineers were on lunch. The only 2 left behind in the design studio were the Spanish and French guys...
nothing for ages... but just acquired a set of wheels that have motivated me to work on it again.
Time to re bag the front and give the paint some love
I think I now know the problem with my altitude sensor since it was rattling when I removed it.
..... Well all the plastic tabs securing the internals of the sensor have completely broken away, so effectively I am driving with no sensor. The default value is 4000m, so I'm on my way to Everest base camp.
This is a sensor that is not talked about much, I'll paste some more information about it when I'm done.
