Mate, I bit the bullet and bought OEM Mk6 (1K8 943 021 C) ones. They're plug and play. Get them off ebay and they not as expensive as you'd think. All up was $67 including postage. The stealers here want $200 or something ridiculous like that.

OEM ftw as they only have 2 LEDs in each housing, unlike the cheapies that contain 26 million LEDs and illuminate 2 meters of asphalt behind you. I really can't stand that **** I don't have pics yet as they're still in the post.

That's what mine looked like, it was so painful driving around like that for a couple of months. SO PAINFUL. I could barely accelerate up hills.

            • Picked up some new shoes his morning. Didn't need any more ATM but hard to come by and mate needed the $$.
Already off having tyres stripped. Need some hubrings, bolt holes opened up to 14mm and a polish/tidy up and they should be ready for new rubber

                      • I dropped my car in to see if they could find the source of the squeaking the chassis loads up on "fun" corners.
                        Sounds like old bed springs.
Go a firm "nothing wrong" everything is tight, not excess play etc etc.
I guess I have to put up with the noise as a side effect of low and stiff suspension.

                        • It's definitely a side effect of Mk4 Gti... I got a new squeak every week

                          • Came back to the car last week and there was a puddle of water in the drivers foot well ?!?! it's never happened before, no leaks in that area of the car ever before! (only other one was near the rear tailights). I definitely didn't have any of the windows open or anything like that, I had just washed the car, but that couldn't be any different from heavy rain right?!?!

I've had a 'Damp Rid/Closet Camel' in there for a week, and it looks like it's soaked up all of the moisture (I empty it every day), and it hasn't happened again since in all of this rain. So, what could it have been??

Is there any known causes for water leaks in this area on a MK4 Golf??

Please shed any light on this, I really worried it'll happen again!!

Does yours have a sunroof? Maybe one of the grommets in the firewall came loose and allowed water to get in through the rain tray?
