Its a bastard to get out, i have tried and taken it out .. putting it back in isnt much better to be honest!

Flew past me on the straight... normally you are meant to move over I had my foot flat in third and he went past me like I was standing still than down blipped with some nice flames coming out his rear's...

I did this yesterday because Golfy decided to swallow the window whole!!! Not happy!

When i did mine I took the glass out first, then took off the metal plate which had window winder motor, door lock, and window rails all still attached.
Put it on bench to install new cables.

You can take the glass out or leave it in, I think's easier with the glass out but it doesn't really matter.

It looks strange indeed! I couldn't get to the glass as it completely disappeared inside the door... I tried to grab it before it fell all the way in, but it's a bit hard to do that whilst driving, I'm no Chuck Norris! Haha...
I've got to organise the part from VW up here... funnily enough I called the bloke at VW parts and he gave me a big spiel on what would need to be done, not listening to me when I said it was all pulled apart ready to go and I just needed some parts to fix it, he asked me how I thought I was going to do it! I may be female... but I'm not stupid!!! I'll give anything a go.... (and thanks again to bug_racer for his assistance so I didn't break anything... thank god for the internet!)

I'll let you know how i go at the hillclimb on the weekend. I had one of the high-up club members look at my mount and said i'd be fine for the hillclimb. Your mount does look good though, so i'd be keen to get one made up if i do happen to run into any scrutineering issues.

What model was the black E30 that i could see in in one of your photos? I'm thinking of getting a 318is as my long term track car eventually, while keeping
my golf as a showy daily driver...

If it was the one in the staging area to the left, I dont think it's an e30. All I know is that he was quite quick in a straight line and a very late braker It had an M5 badge on the back.

There were a lot of E30's there as it was actually a BMW Club day. Graeme Bell is your man in Vic for anything E30 related.
