What have you done to your mk4 (golf/bora) today?

Hi guys, just digging up Gavin's comment from earlier this year in terms of inter-coolers.

Would this welly cooler be too big for my chipped k03?

At the last track day i attended, I felt the car was lacking power on full throttle. I thought it might be the SMIC being completely heat soaked to the extreme. I didnt log the temps unfortunately..

Probably doesn't need to be quite that big. Could be laggy due to the volume the turbo has to fill up.

Nono, full GTR.



Approx 400kw (flywheel.) No idea on Wakefield times, but best 1/4 was a 12.3.

Sirocco, From my research, these coolers from JustJap seem to be the best value in Australia, this whole list is cheap!:

Based on what Gavin is saying, maybe you should probably go for one of the med sized coolers of about 180-230mm high (like the pics you had), like these 2 maybe.. (these 2 are also 65mm thick, not 76mm)..

These guys, KGMotor (also Australian), have cheap intercooler and piping kits (no specific MK4 Golf)..
kgmotor items - Get great deals on Intercooler, intercooler kit items on eBay Stores!

Single pass coolers are easy to find, but you'll need to find some piping to match the MK4.. an 'ebay' piping kit is what would suit the situation.


This THS Intercooling and piping kit (MK4 specific) is expensive after shipping, but still my favourite..
