    • I went to Wakefield Raceway yesterday and It absolutely insane fun.

      The weather was not optimal for fast times (monsoonal rain), but the mk iv golf running pilot sport 3's loved the wet.

      I was hassling 300hp skylnes who couldn't put the power down and I was all over them.

      I was so impressed by the golf and the audi tt 312mm upgrade was just phenomenal.

      In the last session I had guys in an evo 9 asking whether they could chase me down haha. And they did .. but not without a fight.

      Best time I could muster in the abysmal conditions was in the 1:28's. Ill post up some gopro footage when I get the chance.

                Not a lot that can compete with a good track day. I love Wakefield.

                      • some of the best OEM+ wheels around PranK! What's their specs?

                        Also, after looking at Lito's setup, I remembered I have a quick question... Since driving around in summer weather, I've been meaning to ask this..

                        I love the boost/torque with my setup, enough for me for now. BUT, I notice that if I go on long drives, or drive for a bit in warm weather, I seem to loose that "kick" of the boost/torque kicking in. It just seems to have lost the 'punch' I get driving on short trips or driving around late on a cool night.

                        Is this a common thing? What is this to do with? No flow past intercooler? (I was going to do the wheel arch vent mod) Vacuum Leak? Just hot days are bad for turbos?

                        Any help would be massively appreciated!!

                        I've scanned for faults, nothing at all except the 'heated mirror' I knew about (no element), same as a few months ago.

                            that'd be the heat sink that vw call the stock intercooler it doesn't handle summer heat very well. at the least i'd cut some vent holes in the arch liner but nothing beats a fmic

                                What about one of those BIGGER Side Mount jobs? Like this 'Eurojet one:
                                Volkswagen Golf IV 1.8T > Engine > Intercooler > ES&#35;1884312 Side Mount Intercooler - EJ401-M10-01-00

                                or the (seemingly smaller?) Forge one:
                                Volkswagen Golf IV 1.8T > Engine > Intercooler > ES&#35;1832080 Side Mount Intercooler - Polished - FMINTMK4S

                                I don't want to have to re-pipe the whole thing to the front, plus keep the costs low. Also, I've heard mention of the 'pancake pipe' being replaced, would that help?

                                Maybe a combo of bigger SMIC + vented wheel arch + replace pancake pipe??

                                Also Lito (or anyone), what would you sell those spare headlights for? I just want the glass for a UK style joey mod, drivers side headlight is already cracked
