but this morning i started it up and i thought the battery had died or it had stalled.... the engine was at 100 maybe, then spluttered for a few moments, then finally got up to 700 but it sounded very 'fizzy'... would this be the mass air filter ? freaked me out a little'01 Saab 9-3 S

lol went picked up a nother coil pack since one failed ( AGAIN... man i seriously just have to buy them all) and as im driving my car around suddenly just hear a thud and a lot of raket pull over and so on turns out my passenger side axle poped out of its socket ( i swear i used locktite and a rattle gun ) luckily for me i dident bring my phone and the only tools i had with me is the wind up jack ( a.k.a useless peice of sh*t that always gets stuck ) so decide to limp home lift up the car and such and use the car key to hand tighten the bolts just till i get home when i go to lower the car as always the jack gets stuck :@ luckily was able to ask some nice people to borrow their phone and get my brother to bring me a normal jack to finaly get my car out of there gahhh sometimes having a lowered car sucks ballz :/

Im not sure if the GTI had them or not?, and yes no chrome inserts I disassembled the grill so I could completely wrap the blades and in hindsight I should of resprayed the rear section black. Still I'm happy with it I colour coded the lower bumper grills a while ago so its the only black on the front.

Cheers guys - no washing orthis weekend! For the first time in my life, I'm actually going to follow the instructions on the can and let the paint cure for 7 days as recommended ...
already the wait is killing me!
Here's a few closer shots - the finish is matte and pretty darn OEM.
The centre console is an ECS jobbie - they still sell them but they are pretty pricey to get over here. After finally sourcing an armrest, I'm debating whether to put it in or leave it out. (Just another thing to strip back and paint)

Where is your fuel release ? Mine is in the centre console, this 04 console does not seem to include a place for the switch.
That paint looks the goods, what prep did you do ? I find that once the soft touch has rubbed off the texture is gone too.MK4 GTI - Sold

re. prep. where the paint was flaking really badly I stripped it off with a chux heavy duty scourer pad, then I wiped down the surface with mineral turps to remove any grease/oil from my hands, let it dry off in the sun for a bit, then sprayed it. I can see how if the surface was sanded excessively you'd lose the texture, so I'm trying not to use sandpaper unless really required.
