      • Discovered that when ESP comes into play an orange light flashes on the dash to tell you that...

Had a great drive down to Wisemans Ferry and back.

Theres a solution to this problem, press the ESP button on the dash to keep the yellow light on... and delay ESP kick-in (prob designed in Opposite world where On light means Off ESP?!?!!)

I'm pretty keen to test it out on the track to find the limits with it on and off. I'd feel bad if i put it into a tree coz i had the ESP off!

Yeah - ESP on when driving on public roads is the best bet

              • My post was purely in jest... but sometimes I disable it for cruises especially hill roads.

I also believe that the ESP still kicks in if the computer sences an idiot manuovere has been made.

Sorry, my post wasn't meant as a comment on yours!

I believe you're right - I don't think the ESP can be totally disabled on our cars - the point at which it cuts in is all you can adjust I believe.

I'll hopefully have my car on the track soon and should be able to report back on this!

i think it does disengage the ESP completely, but the haldex still shuffles the power around.

                          • Neither was my comment made in judgement. I've just pondered how much of a clown i'd feel if i put it into a wall with ESP off.

It has to be said though that it's 'intervention' did somewhat ruin a fun corner.

                            • Hi,

I have had my car on a skidpan and the ESP will only re-engage at 95% and to be quite frank if you are that good a driver that you have the car at 95 % of the limit than you must be a freaking good driver haha. You can get around it but I am not willing to discuss how to do this on a public forum

But it is quite easy to get it to trigger if you are doing 180's and the like and it becomes annoying if you don't do them quick enough.
