  • haha cheers lads, my foot slipped

Tried plugging in my C2 motorsports (uk) flashed 2nd ECU and it doesnt work without a CEL and it dying in the ass.
Will contact them tomorrow but sounding like a big waste of money at this point in time.
Current: '04 Astra SRI Turbo - EDS IPF Flash, 3" TBE, Quaife LSD
Previously: Bora 4mo, cams, coilovers, tune, exhaust, brembo's etc

hope its something simple and not too time consuming. I see good results from dyno tunes with the C2...

      • I suspect it wont be, current ECU runs perfectly, theirs isnt driveable.
Minimum I guess i'll have to ship it back to the UK and then back again, expensive exercise!

          • those wheels look awesome. I want! what are they? weight?
thanks bud! there AVS wheels..unsure of what style exactly.. as to weight, their just sitting at 10kg each! its not too bad but the things you have to go through to get some fatness is almost worth it

Does it run for a second then cut out?

              If so that's the immobiliser.

no liking my chances, it's been a week now and i've got 18mm of rake on the left hand side, and 12mm on the right (differences in measurements from ground to wheel arches)
Looks pretty average, and on top of that the back left has only dropped a couple mm so far, really regretting not going coilovers. at least that way you don't have to worry about inconsistancies with different springs. so much for H&R's high quality standards...
Just load it with fatties for the next couple of weeks

                  • Would look even better with all four lighting up like that.
Definately need a "slow down" sign photoshopped in there!

I'd definitely run with this as a likely explanation also. Unless you sent C2 your original ecu as well as the 2nd one so they could copy the immobiliser settings onto your new ecu or unless they simply did an immobiliser delete from your 2nd ecu the ecu will not let the car run as the ecu does not match the cluster. If the car runs for a second then dies and the immobiliser light is flashing on a dash then thats definitely the problem.

I've also gotten hold of a second ecu from the UK but after i get back to aus, before i send it off to C2 to map i'm going to clone the immobiliser chip just to make sure its ruled out as an issue puerly because from what i've read once C2 put their software on an ecu only they can then remove / change the immobiliser coding because their software encryption is on the same chip the immobilser is on or something like that :/

It's good to see that it was being done in sensible circumstances.

I got caught in the left lane a few weeks ago at some lights, with a car parked ahead. I took off at a reasonable (but sensible and certainly legal) pace to try get out of the lane before the car ahead became an issue, but had a woman in a Holden Zafira (Astra-based people mover) try to cut me off - and then after she failed, pull the 'bent little finger' move at me! I had to laugh - the stupid such-and-such tried to cut me off, and then I'm the one driving badly...
                        Nothing to see here...

Definitely not the immobiliser, its been coded out of the ECU.
It will start (after a few tries) and idles (a bit rough though), and pottering around is ok.
But when you put your foot down it starts to almost misfire, and then the lights on the dash come up.

Apparently my ECU cant be scanned (Joe thinks that the install of the DVD player may have broken the OBD2 port/cable), so its going to be even harder to find out what the codes are. Need to pull it out and have a look at the port.

Had a similar thing happen to me in the early 90's, whilst driving my then S2 12a turbo RX7.
GTHO Phase 3 next to me at the lights. All three occupants were laughing their heads off at me due to the parked car in my lane just beyond the lights.

Once the lights went green, I launched from the line with no wheelspin, left them behind and never saw them again.
Don't think they would have been laughing after that. Not really related to this thread but I love to tell my stories here and there.

had someone pass me in their white rx7 (i think) on the weekend, and they politely floored it as they went past. The blowoff valve (i presume) was so loud and shrill it acatually hurt my ffn ears! was like they attached a whistle to it or something. not cool.

actually they had a carsales ad on the back. might find them and send an abusive message

                              found the car

fark 415whp!!! just as well i didn't try embarrass myself!
