To get the front of the car up, jack under the front engine mount on the crossmember.

To do the back, stick the pad of the jack under the axle pivot point, just make sure you don't crush the handbrake cable.

last time i jacked the car up from there, my jack colapsed, and we had to do some major recovery work to get the front heels back oon

Get a decent jack, it will save your life.
Remember they are for lifting only, to hold the car in place you then need stands.

If you have a high kerb you can put 2 wheels on that and wriggle under, dispensing with a jack altogether
The lip comes off by grabbing it in the middle at the join and pulling forwards vigorously

the stock lip has a few screws holding it to the splash guards as well. So dont pull to hard until you find them

There's about 8 clips on each half of the lip..they're bout 12-15cm apart each and you just flick them down and pull them out (they're at the back obviously) I tried yanking it once and broke a clip so do it gently..

Screws.... Mine has no screws. As for jacking, my trolley jack doesn't quite fit under, but lifting at the wheel arch while pushing the jack under with a foot works well Failing that I have a piece of concrete I jam under the front wheel then drive forward 4 inches

Joys of a low car. But yes, I have always wondered where you could put a stand after jacking on the hard points.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

Hahahahahaha...I once seen an apprentice at trade school put the jack THROUGH the sump...Being a trade school vehicle, it had been done to it many time, but on this particular occasion, the sump pan just failed...Very funny to watch though, as they couldn't the jack out of the sump, and had to take the sump pan off to free it!!
