not to put a downer on this thread.... but i will..
i have tried a BIG pod many times on my car (about twice as long as your one) and it doesnt work nearly as well.... it just doesnt have the filter area that the OEM one does.
my mk3 is running 18psi with the intercooler fitted, and it will spike to about 20 - with the stock air filter.
when i put my big pod on, time after time after time, i lose about 1 - 1.5psi of boost.
just to let you know... i do however have a 80mm hole cut into the bottome of my airbox, with a pipe going down to the drivers side bumper scoop for a nice cool air charge into the airbox... i'm sure this makes everything work more nicely, but it doesnt affect boost.

I remember reading my mum's gauge in her territory and seeing like 20L/100km in traffic, and it didn't change much when she was driving for a while. I hate that car!
