Ah... but you have an immobiliser I hear you say...

with the chip removed:

Take one switchblade with AH blank and drill a progressively larger hole till you get to 6.5mm:

Be *VERY* careful not to drill too far and go through the body.
Insert immobiliser chip:

For the moment I have used some "blu tack" like stuff to hold it all in place, this way if it doesn't work I can just stick it back into the original key and it's all good.

The buttons don't do anything... yet... but that can wait for another day... like after I choose an alarm system for the car

For the moment I haven't had the key cut, that's tomorrow's task, but some preliminary tests holding the switchblade next to the original key show that mounting the chip any further back makes it useless, it seems drilling this hole is the only option. Still, tomorrow will be the real test when the switchblade itself goes into the car

Anyone happen to know what frequency the remote works on? If possible I would like to get it working with an after market system to save the hassle of re-wiring the remote. Game on.
