        • Yea i think i prefer it with the black rub strips, maybe get them painted and freshened up though if theyre looking a bit old and faded.

          It is looking sweet though

Glass won't be coming out boys...sorry.

Problem with taking the glass out is it has to be stored, we need to buy things to actually put them back in again, it needs to be done right, it's a hell of a lot more time...it just gets very messy.

I'm sorry but its also the right way of doing it. Why go to all the trouble of doing the hatch and then not taking any rubbers or glass out? By saying that it will be a poor effort in terms of where the paint finishes and the window rubbers start...Over time and with washing the car it will tarnish it.

                • can't you leave the glass in and take off all the rubbers? and still get all the metal work with paint?

( you can do this on a mk 1, not sure about mk 3's thats all??)

Don't want to follow the crowdbut I had a hatch painted previously and the glass wasn't taken out. Rust bubble appeared a few weeks later at the edge where it meets the rubber.

So my vote= take glass out!!!!!

Fine I'll take the glass out. Just dunno when, where, how, who, how much, etc. Don't really care about it at this point because we've only just started the big process.

                              • More importantly, 'nother update.

Fixed all dents, scratches etc with sanding and filler, and painted hi fill primer over them.

The boot line still ain't right ...gonna take a while methinks. Slap on some more filler and carefully sand down along the two edges to try get it straight.

Car looks so aggressive and phuckoff now...hahaha:

                                Camouflage paint ftw!!

Rear right door, and bottom edge of the front left door still need sanding and hi-filling; we'll do that tomorrow. Stay tuned for camber hopefully!
