Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Yeah, everyone seems to call them something different. 3 slat one, I like the 4 slat the best it's more squared up and looks a bit more serious.

Yea I do like the 4 slats but wont be buying one anytime soon haha

Weather was beautiful today so I decided to clean the door jams and around the boot lid.
Came up a treat since there was so much dust and dirt in there! Also found so rust in the back and on one of the doors!

Will get that cut out and welded later on! Next step is to detail the engine bay a bit!

I got the Philips Crystal Visions. I believe they are 4300K. THey also come with parkers too so you can swap them out when you do the bulbs. The bulbs are H4. I have them in my Vento and they look great and give great light output

Hoodlift, I bought mine from eBay. If you search "mk3 golf hood struts" or something they should come up. Got mine for around $30 bucks delivered

Black is always better, beige just reminds me of computer cases from the 90s, shudder.

Been researching diys on vwvortex to do little changes to the vento as my main priority is to get my mk4 back on the road and also going to be buildng a house in the near future so plan is spend as little as possbile until everythings right then I can think about wheels, coils and tint!

Plan is to get grille and mirrors painted
Thinking joey mod on the headlights and replace the bulbs too
                    Replace the LCA bushing
                    Wheel bearing
Hood bra.....in no particular order haha

Just a little update, started my joey mod headlights! Looks so much better now! Stuart suggested was to use a brush to paint which I should have done rather than using tape and taking chrome off. But still it does look good!
