Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Dubster's Vento

Hey guys! Thought I would introduce myself to you mk3 guys! Im Anthony from Adelaide. If some of you have seen I normally post in the mk4 section. Been working on my Mk4 for a while but after paying off all my debts and trying for a house so I decided to look for a cheap daily. Always liked the ventos and when this one came up in the for sale sectiob I just had to grab it! So here it is!

1996 2.0l vento with a 5 speed manual. Needs a fair bit of TLC but Im happy to get my hands dirty!
Pics are after its first wash! Did an auto wash which did underneath too but when I went to dry it the wheel arches were still full of dirt! Used the pressure washer and the amount the dirt was insane! Went to vaccum the interio and both the boot and passenger from floor was wet so seems theres some hole I will need to fill up! But anyway glad to hear any advice from you guys!

Thanks guys! So went down to my not so local wrecker where I knew of a vento. Grabbed the black trims from it and the clutch cable as mine seems to be really stiff! Going back to get what Ive been told is a short shifter and the black center console too.

One of my favourite visuals I would suggest checking out are smoked VR6 spec taillights, in blue the car is a bit of a rainbow at the back and the smoked cleans it up big time (IMMHOO). The blue looks great all shined up and with some blacks to contrast.
