Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

93 99 VW Golf GTI MK3 E Code Black Smoke Euro Dual Headlights w Glass Lenses | eBay

any know if these will work? they say "Special Notes: Modifications will be required for these Euro-spec headlights to fit. Wiring harness and mounting brackets are NOT included!"
what modifications are going to be required? i', assuming it's just going to be a bolt up and plug in and go situation, but i don't want to be disappointed..

US Spec Golfs require modifications and brackets and cable adapters for EURO headlights to fit.
We all have EURO models though.

Also light path of LHD head lights is different, so make sure you sort that out and don't blind oncoming traffic.

Is this still the case for normal, non-HID headlights?

Been thinking about getting some MK4-Style lights for my VR but was worried about this.

I don't know much about it TBH, some models can be modified simply to transfer over, some not so easily.

But yes I imagine it affects all/most headlight types.

Buy from the UK, prices are decent (inc shipping) and they are RHD so you don't need to get them changes, AND everyone has EURO spec over there.
