Only issue I had with the wheels is the centre caps won't go on the rear, I'd have to get spacers or stick them on somehow. Only need about 2mm or so extra really.

Yes it sits pretty high , but really happy with it.

For the rears, try removing the metal vw centrepiece piece, its actually glued onto the plastic cap. Then drill out the thick plastic that remains leaving a little bit around the edge so you can still glue the metal vw cap back on. That gave me enough room on my montreals such that the bearing cap could still fit inside the centre cap!

Didnt want to have to deal with spacers...

mb1907953 so that metal cap is glued onto a plastic cap? seems a bit strange. I'll have to do it another day as I'm not going to have any time to do it for a while. Good to know though.

Tried some of that Mother's Naturally Black stuff. Seems pretty good, will have to see how long it lasts. Might post some pics.
Finally fixed my PCV issue with a bit of work, now I won't have oil messing up the engine bay.
Replaced oil and filter while I was at it and had it balanced and aligned (it was quite out but I knew that from the start, just didn't think it was that bad )
Replaced the Air Filter a while back and it was a nice improvement. And did get around to wiring the sub power properly as you can see in a previous photo.

Unless your wheels are 17" then they are not Longbeaches.

They do look similar to them but they are actually called Avus II's.

Longbeaches have a round edge to the spokes compared to your which are squared off more.

Yeah, you're right. I must have confused myself when I was looking up the different wheels. They do look similar though.

The best stuff i have ever used is forver black. Put it on once a week for a month. Still black 3 years later without touching it. That stuff fades in a couple days.

                    Looks good though!

                      Thanks.
I was already in the shop buying other parts and I just happened to see it there but not the other one so I bought it.
Only place where it didn't really work well was the door handles. I think it's a different type of plastic. I need to replace those seals anyway. eBay the best place the get them? Found one seller and prices were reasonable.

                          New parts next week!

I've run into a problem with my passenger side lock. The keyhole turns both ways but doesn't do anything. Locking the car using the drivers side lock does lock the door though. What could be the problem? I'll also not that the keyhole on the boot never worked either but did lock/unlock together with the whole car.

the spade bit in your door lock has snapped

                            the thing on the left.

buy a door lock from some wreckers and swap em out.

youll also need to swap over the clips from the barrel so that you can use the same key.

theres a DIY somewhere on how to do it.

                            pretty easy.

i did one of my doorlocks a while ago

Does price matter? HK has them for ~$10 and what I assume are genuine are ~$50. It is the passenger side so it's not like it will be wearing out a lot.
