Mate on your headlamps there is a yellow and a white wire. rule of thumb on Porsche ,Audi and Vw the White wire at the headlamps are high beam and the yellow is low beam. If your splicing mate for other lamps do so with a 5 pin relay as you may overload your switch, thats the only dram you can have.

Dont have the fogs on permanently with the low beams, as that is illegal.

I think legally you have to have them hooked up to the high beam AND have a separate on/off switch mounted on the dash from memory

Some (i think only overseas models) came with a fog light switch as part of the main headlight switch, you can pick these up for around $50 and upwards on ebay UK and it just replaces your standard headlight switch but has the extra function. You'll find them mostly in the UK as you need to get one for a right hand drive vehicle, lefties are opposite way round.

High beam and fog don't mix.

Spot lights/driving lights fall in that category, fogs just need a separate switch. (although it may need to be on with at least parkers).

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

We used to remaove the 1 stage headlamp switch and fit the dual with some extra wiring on some, there is a Vw part number for this, it was a common ask when we were pre delivering these vehicles along with a string of other goodies.

You can connect your fog lights to the main harness plug just behind radiator. You can also mod your original headlight switch so you can run fogs and park lights only or head and fog together. I can have a look on mine for exact pin.

A euro switch pulls out twice, once for the front fogs and again for the rears.
