Getting Mk3 under 1000 should be very easy.

Well had a pretty productive weekend. Managed to pull the engine and both subframes out of the donor car.
Will be fitted to the race car as soon as a suspension refresh kit is fitted. Will also be ordering some new engine mounts this week.
Also found some old seats of my brothers in the back shed, which should be perfect for this project.
Here are some pictures in no particular order

Mk3 racer
MAKE SURE YOU USE A EXTERNAL OIL COOLER !!
Ask K1llZ how he ran his, an if he did any oil sluching prevention.
An ask him what kind of exhaust system he ran, reckon a 2.5" straight through with 2or3 boxes would do + a new cat
I remember the last person to put a high flow cat on a vr had lots of problems (mickey's old vr), standards good enough I think, ask K1llZLast edited by KKK VR6; 26-03-2013, 02:29 PM.Garage:

if it's a race car, i doubt they'll have cats, or mufflers! lol

We are thinking 3" exhaust with only a free flowing centre resonator. Would love to do side exit later on, but would involve cutting the floor pan.
Lol at having cat's on a race car.
I know people are going to say 3" is going to be too big for a stock engine, but we don't plan to keep it stock forever
