9.5 is really pushing it, especially in 17s. Would need as much offset as you can get before it touches anything inside. You'll need to stretch some small tyres and a fair bit of camber to make it work.
Can be done though. I was going to run 15x9.5 on my mk3 and it was going to sit perfect. I'll see if I can dig up some test fit photos and the offset
