Yeah that looks like cool idea with the smoothed rear hatch, although I'd go the extra step further and remove the lock as well and make an auto opener, either simply unlocking it or putting a motor in as well to open it, that I'd like to see. If the car has central locking already it would be easier I guess.
As for the pretty white VR6, I still think that wing with its in built brake light still looks out of place on that nice looking car, I'd get a later model brake light and install it.
It looks clean! Though the brake light in the glass wrecks the look IMO.
I would be careful if you removed the centre brake light, part of the ADR says that vehicles post 198x (can't remember the exact year) must have a rear mid mounted brake light. If can find the exact details I'll post them up.
If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.
When someone bumped my bumper, my friendly smash repairer painted mine for me in white to match my car..I like it much better this way. I had previously painted it myself. If there was a way to do it that didn't leave holes i'd be all over it. I also removed the long piece of the aerial and just left the stub. I also don't have altezza style tailights either..which helps.
That was very fortunate of you that your friend helped you in those circumstances, I'd be lucky to get a piece of advice from someone let alot get help, I have to pay for everything lol...
Did you paint the whole bracket or simply the actual top wing bit thats clipped in? I must look good regardless post a picture when you get a chance.
What do altezza tail lights have to do with not or having a wing haha?
Each to his own, but until you see the car in person then... you can't really form a judgement about it.
exactly. i was going to add that phrase in there...
i don't know if i could deal with everyone having the same look on their car - in my opinion it just looks a bit rice. I actually quite like it on that colour though. white would look good too...
back on topic:
i'm dropping in to bunnings first thing tomorrow morning and explain our situation re the holes in the window.
Yeah I didn't like them at first, but the wheels are a very glossy silver, I also have all clear indicators and the car is a green colour. After that and a few mods the look began to come into shape and now I'm happy with it, but at first glance I'd say the same. Oh and they were a freebie too!
You can actually buy automotive plugs and plastic screws from supercheap and autobarn, you will probably have to take the wing off, clean it up, reapply the actual rubber seals with superglue then measure the diameter of the gap. After that you can find a few plugs and silicone or superglue them in but that often won't be neccesary. Otherwise just take it off and electrical tape the holes if you can't find any in the mean time ... no water will get in trust me.
To be honest science i've never seen anyone do that with their wing, but the car will look like a rally or race car with that integrated wing, It would certainly look interesting. Also the wing can flex and move, probably expanding and contracting in the heat as well, it might not be as simple as just bogging the gaps as other problems might arise.

Agreed, now about the wing. I will dig out a photo somewhere, the other thing about the wing is it serves a engineering purpose on the vehicle i believe. On my car it's purpose is to disturb the air just enough for brake dust and dirt to settle all over my back windscreen and hatch..

Reason: typo
I'm guessing It probably did, but why would you want brake dust and dirt to settle on the hatch and rear windsheild? Is that... a good thing? Wouldn't you want it off that area so you can see out the back?
I'm guessing the wing improves the car's aero to some degree as well...
