    • Dammmn that looks good Preen! During my visits to fabric stores, I've found a lot of material that were thick enough to feel good on its own without any foam/padding, but they were generally more bland than what I had in mind.

Initially I wanted to go for the thin but dense padding (I think it's the 7mm one you're mentioning Branko) but it was a lot more than what I went for...

I know this isn't cheap i.e. $30-50 m2, but try to get some seat fabric from an auto-trimmer or auto-upholstery store. They will have the 2-4mm foam lining behind it and will provide you with all the support you need.

        • I've got two more trims to go (the large pieces that go over the rear quarters) and painting the rest of the trim (seatbelt sliders, roof grabbers, visors etc) to do before I'm done with it. Oh and also the door cards - I need your guidance Lachlan!

Anyway, I bought a set of mirrors from Peter Jones' wreck last week. Just a pic for now:

First time taking them apart though and I managed to break a few tabs Dismantled the other side now though and it came out fine

I've gone wayyy past the recommended consumption for plastic fumes for the day though, so I've stopped

              • You can buy genuine headlining fabric with foam backing in any colour or finish at Nolan Warehouses at Alexandria. Its by the metre and very reasonable. I usually pay $30-$40 for enough to do a whole car.

Hahaha yeah, same reason I'm leaving them 'til last... and because I'm using a plaid-pattern fabric, I have the worry of getting it on straight Originally I wanted to cover it all, but I don't think the slider mechanism would work well if I pack on the fabric on the slide. I'm thinking of painting it to match the other half of the interior (navy blue) but I would like to cover the slider handle... At the moment I've been using headliner spray adhesive to lay them on tight first, then hot-gluing the entire edge. My fabric isn't elastic but it has some slight stretch in it so hopefully it'll spread evenly over the contours of the handle... hopefully. I guess if not, it'll be painted navy blue as well. Not too fussed though.

Pics are more or less the same

                            • Dammit I'm not ready yet...!

Just been doing maintenance jobs mainly... clutch has been done (finally), made a battery box, rerouted battery and other power cables (still not very neat), keyless entry, and delocked handles (painted black). Also decided to do some random **** like run roof rack stuff and rusted my grille (gotta love Vortex).

Sway bar links, control arm bushings (R32 items), Hottunings, coolant flush and new bottle (yeah it looks like I have coke in it when you look at the old bottle) to be done this week, and finishing the rest of my abandoned mods and possibly new wheels for this summer break.

Not much of a teaser but since I got no pics as yet, here's what I'm picking up soon: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....m=170274306946
Yes they're in bad condition and they won't fit my car (5x112), but what's the fun in buying wheels and just chucking them on?
