Didn't take one unforunately, and now the cars up in Toowoomba so I cant take one until Im back up that way to fix it It not completely finished, the vertical piece that I have the amp and vu4 etc on still needs to have carpet, but after that, it will be all done
Headed up to Toowoomba over the long weekend a couple weekends back and swapped in the new clutch kit and mk4 rear brakeks. New clutch feels so nice, the original one has been a bit slippery ever since I bought the car. Rear brakes are nice too, although with the ebc greenstuff pads (which I think are a little more sporty than what I have in the front) and ****ty cheap tyres on the rear with really nice ones on the front, if I get on the brakes really hard the back likes to lock up and slide before the front ones will. I'm sure if I had good tyres all around it would be fine.
A few pictures:
Getting the transmisison in and out just with a floor jack was a bit of a pain
Old clutch was completely rooted, which is why it was slipping even down hills
Noticed the self axle notch has actually worn completely through the chassis, I really must get a proper notch done and have it all welded up before **** starts rusting. This proves just how low I drive it daily
Got it all working again and took some snaps wit the parents camera on the grass haha
Test fitted and started measuring up how big I want the new lips for the rs to be when I got back to brisbane, I think these wheels are going to look sweet Imagine the rears 2.5 inches wider and the fronts 2 inches wider, thats the plan at the moment. Want to roll and slightly pull the gaurds and measure again before I decide.
Needs a new clutch cable now but after that it should be all sweet mechanically for the time being
Thanks
They're both 15's haha, I think the rs will look bigger when They have nice wide shiny lips on them. Not having tyres and such probably creates that illusion a bit aswell though, and the angle and perspective affects it too, the oem wheel isnt actually sitting on the bumped as it kind of looks, its actually a good couple of feet away . I noticed it too though, the oem 15's look huge in that photo haha
Thanks I got a full LUK clutch kit from Imparts, was only $260 and came with the clutch disc, pressure plate and release plate, pretty cheap I thought.
But yeah, I was amazed to see just how much dust came out with the clutch, that pile isn't even all of it! The disc I pulled out was pretty much completely bald
Its going nowhere, haha, engine is pretty much completely pulled apart. I just need money, which I'm no longer making thanks to uni, can barely afford food some weeks. Miss full time work sometimes but in the end Im sure itll be worth it. Thinking of going all out with the motor now, as in 3.0L vrt, as by the time I'll have the money to do it I'll be off the pplates, and I think I'll need to get the engine bored out as the other weekend when I was back up in Toowoomba I took a look at it and theres a little surface rust on the bores of the block as I didn't store it properly. I'm trying to save my money at the moment to finish off the wheels. More power probably isnt a good idea for me at the moment anyway, only have 1 point left on the license.

Thanks guys I think it's a little lower than the other australian bagged mk3's because I'm only on 15's running 195/45's, and my driveshafts eaten almost a good 2cm deep notch into the frame. Looking into getting real notches done soon if I can find someone/somewhere to do it so I can actually lay frame (which is so, so close)
