    • What happened dude?! figure it out yet?

      • Yea vdubin like youve said, air really isnt as easy as it looks. Mines caused a heap of problems. I had the end to the connector for the control snap off at the last lake side track event thing we do here in QLD, just as pretty much everyone was leaving. Luckily some very nice people stuck around (for hours) and we eventually got it sorted after a lot of trying different things and eventually driving some 30km in busy traffic to buy a new usb cord which I could cut the end off and attach, to make everything work.

The problem I have now is the management seems to be completely ****ed. Its hard to explain. A couple days ago when I would fire up the car it would pretty much just open all of the solenoids randomly in a spaz attack until I would hopefully just get enough air in to make it roll, when I would disconnect the control and take out the cats eyes off the road the entire way home. Today it seems even worse, and wont even do that. It just seems to be dead. Ive wired up my own little switch box which is just plugged staight into the vu4 and it works fine, just need to wire up the compressors to run without the switchspeed ecu and ill be all good, although running the most basical management ever, when I payed good money for switchspeed.

Swapped the ignition switch with a new oem one today, and all of my problems are still here, so im compltetely stumped. The fuel pump etc are still getting power when the car is off. I think this might have something to do with the air controll ****ing up aswell. Thinking I might need to send it to an auto electrition becuase im well and truly confused now, was almost certain it would be that switch.

        • **** sounds like a nightmare !
When I was stuffed I went to my local Autolec and explained to him the set up, take your diagram down show him.
Then just explain whats happening if hes switched on he will pick it up right away like my guy did.

Is your VU4 brand new ? cause thats odd it may have **** inside it...I had an issue where my car was leaking from the outlet ! and making my left bag go down lol I was just thinking will this **** just END,

I googled it & found out the VU4 are very sensitive dust and **** must of got up my outlet pipe so I had to pull it all apart and blow it out or you can just try blow it out using the system itself just go up and down untill its clear.

but yeah just go to your local Autolec.

          • Sounds like an "ignition" and a "constant" power wire are getting mixed up and getting the same power signal!

            • Thats what I thought stu, but had a good look and it wasnt that simple.

I seem to have fixed the fuel pump issue. Had an auto elec have a quick look and he pulled apart the fuel pump relay and found it was stuffed. This is what must have thrown me off, as I did already swap that relay and it made no difference. I swapped the ignition switch and the old one did have a crack in it, which im now suspecting killed the fuel pump relays very quickly. This also completely ****ed my battery(s). Ohwell, new ignition switch, relay and battery and it seems to be sweet. Is a nice feeling getting in, not having to pop the bonet and hook up the battery etc and have it fire up straight away.

Bad news though is the switchspeed management seems to have been ****ed as well, it seems to be completely dead now :/ I might see if I can get it replaced or something but I dont like my chances, so looks like Ill have to rock the little switch box I knocked up for the time being. Would love to get autopilot v2 but thats simply not going to happen, due to lack of funds. Am moving out of home and starting uni in a week, so money is not something Im going to be seeing for a very long time.

              Ohwell.

              Fun things
              Just a couple tyres?

Or 2 impossible to get in australia 194/45/15 Toyo T1R tyres, a mk5 r32 sump, a 4 cylinder sump, 2 new window cranks, euroimage engine spacer kit, assorted random new bolts, spare ignition switch and a fancy new headunit? >

Battery worth almost more then the car itself

And brand new everything to swap over to vr6 front gear, with r32/poly control arm bushings and hawk HPS pads

Hoping the axles turn up tomorrow so I can swap all this **** tomorrow night and get an alignment friday at work, before I move to Brisbane on saturday to an apartment with no garage...

              • Well it took me until 4:45 AM (having to wake up for work at 6:30) but the swap is complete. Off to the alignment shop (my work (which today is my last day at :O)) for me today, if I dont fall asleep somewhere on the way...

For those wondering if you can press in new control arm bushings with no real tools, seperate old vr6 ball joints, remove 4 cylinder control arms, sway bar, tie rods, drive axles etc, swap in vr6 gear, tourqe everything properly and add new brake discs and rotors, bleed brakes and take for short test drive after work one night while also having to duck out for a hair cut etc, it is possible, just not recommended

                      • I'm just running the full vr6 widetrack gear. Considered keeping the narrow track but decided I wanted it wide anyway
