Jap spec 16v GTI's get these seats + leather wheel/handbrake/gearstick gaitor that the VR6 has (I've chopped mine and added a golfball)....the 5dr will have rear headrests, the 3dr won't. AFAIK the UK spec 16v will not come with these seats, they will have a variant on the smaller backed VR6 seats aka 'sport seats'

I looked on ebay for ages for one of those too, mine looks like a copy of the Anniversary knob (made in china?)
1/2 rubber, 1/2 alloy. Havent seen them for sale in the UK new either.
The top disc could be popped off and a blank fitted. Closer pic

96 UK spec GTI/VR6 dials (sorry for the crummy pic) MFA will have MPG. Oil and outside temp is the same as ours. No gas! The odo on mk3s cannot be switched between Miles and Kms, unlike the mk4, as they have a 'region code setting'

Miles vs KM on a speedo isn't a big issue. My first car was a 71 Type III which only had MPH on it. In this case you even have KMH on the inside ring. Yeah, I had a miles dash on my mk1 Scirocco and mk1 Golf in nz. Wasnt fussed by it.
Mine now, donor 16v was a 97 Jap-spec GTI.... whole dash was swapped.
