  • I have seen that car and it looks ok imo.
It`d be a big job to delete the recess. I`d weld in a piece of steel and then smooth over the whole lot. Would cost a bit, but you`d have to do it before paint.

Yeah thats right Its big as they cut the recess and then cut and weld another piece of steel into its place.

      • I've heard of a few guys that have cut the Mk3 plate recess and weld in the Mk2 plate recess, also giving that clean, no boot lock look.

Pics! Louis sent me one of the front end, looks like it'll eat anything in its way.

        • Hey steve, you know how your badgeless grille is broken why don't you just leave it, might as well weld a boser to cover the broken bit, saves you repairing it.

Haha Louis, I'm thinking about it at the moment I'm trying to glue it and also fibreglass it back together!

As for the boser I have a second bonnet ready when the time comes though it is going on

Take a pic of the damage Steve, I may be able to help you out. I recently got myself a plastic welder (well, it's just a soldering iron with a flat blade tip!) and I've been pretty handy with it lately!

              • Update

Ok fellas a small update I have with just a few parts now all coming down to the cosmetic part of things.

I have fixed my new thanks to Pierre (Fuzion) for sitting for hours glueing it and almost glueing himself to it aswell lol.

I also have my new smoked indictors and fogs looking super dooper! :] I will be putting them on after the car comes back out of paint.

This weekend I will have a few updates, installing new bonnet struts they will be going on, also taking wheels off and giving them a real good rubbing and sanding a tad to get them smoothed again.

Sorry for the super dooper fantastic crap pics but I did it really fast as I was in a rush yesterday for work.

Also going to be spraying the calipers a colour as I am not sure what colour I want them looking at Red but I am not sure. It will probably end up being black as you can't see anything over the 928's lol. Also spraying the adaprters black aswell( why not ) :]

Thanks Raymond but I was helped out by a friend getting it glued and came up really good

Secondly as much as I love these rims I want another couple of pairs of shoes.

What I really want are these Keskin KT4's 16x7.5 and 16x9 at the back with powdercoated centres

I found the little dude so I thought I'd put him in lol.

                    • They're ****ing sick! I thought the KT4's were 18"+ though. Are there any Aussie dealers for Keskin wheels?

Can't wait to see your new front end!

                      • Me to Raymond lol, I don't think so there is anyone however I have enquired from dubmeister in the UK and have it was about $1300 just for the wheels plus shipping

                        • That's not too bad really. You could possibly get them to ship two shipments, one to you and another to a friend so the duties aren't so "taxing". I've heard Keskin are quality wheels, despite the fact that they make replica wheels.

I agree, looked at a few different wheels and these ones made me grin straight away, I was planning on doing the two ahipments, they will most likely come from the UK to which I think that there is tax that you also have to pay not quite sure

I have also heard that they make replica wheels which almost put me off them, however after hearing some good comments from other dub users and looked at them first hand I was quite happy with the manufacturing quality! My only problem is that how will a stretch tyre go with taking the car through spirited drives through the National Park and Wisemans ferry so to speak

                            • I cant see how a stretched tire would be anything but un-performance like.

                              • so long as the stretch isnt crazy it can actually increase sidewall stiffness. Obviously sidewall stiffness can reduce comfort.

It all just depends though i guess. If u stretch a lot then maybe that can adversely effect the tyres contact patch?

I reckon big stretch looks a bit dumb anyways though.
