  • My new clutch finally arrived after about 2 months. So I can now button this thing up and drive it again.

    • Turn2 crank pulley

The HD pressure plate hits something within the gearbox too; so that has to come back off and be rectified. Probably with the grinder

It's not that fast; loses to civics when you drive it A.

Fixed said PP issue the Aussie way:

So. I've been driving the car, just putting kilometers on it making sure everything is cool.

So far no real issues other than it needs the mega squirt or at least a chip tune.

              Reviews:

Autotech 262 cams, really cheap, pretty easy to install if you have no other issues arise. Idles like stock, maybe a hair of more lump at idle Powerband is about the same, pulls a little harder but nothing monstrous Personally, I'd save the time and go straight to 268/276 etc. might cost more to get done but would probably be much more worth it.

A/C & PS Delete kit from EAA engineering: a/c gear was easy as to remove. Saved about 15kg maybe more. The P/S stuff come off easy. But installing the loop pice was a bit of a pita. If I were to do it again, I would cut the lines further up somewhere and join them. Haven't got a wheel alignment yet and hopefully this will help because it's like you a stationary constantly, pretty damn hard to turn, unlike any other non P/S car I've driven. That saved about 10kg though.

              Real 2.9 ABV intake:
Installed at same time so can't tell results. From what I've seen, no real power gains. But powerband is shifted up a bit.

ClutchNet stage 4 6 puck carbon Kevlar disc and Pressure Plate:

Stock pedal weight, not on/off engagement like other pucked disc cars I've driven. No judders, no shaking etc. haven't launched it yet, but I'm going to say it'll be pretty sweet. Did have issues with the HD pressure plate hitting on the bell housing somewhere causing the motor to 'lock up' took box off and 'massaged' pretty much everything down to be certain and it worked.

Gruven parts repair blocks/ side to side reduction piece:

Waste of money for the blocks, the side to side piece was pretty good though, nice and close!

              Solid front motor mount:
Seems to made a pretty good difference in drivability terms. Motor doesn't move at all by hand. Can imagine very little movement by the motor itself too. Has added pretty much zero vibrations, maybe a sprinkle more vibration.. If that.

              Haven't installed lightweight Pulleys yet.

Going to the track over the next month or two and going to see what I can do. Goal is as it sits (+ 225/50 A048's) to go under 13.4

Oh please. I haven't driven on the A048 yet, but my sti has the A048D's on it and they are phenomenal.

Sidewall of Bridgestone is ugly. Re002 was a great tyre on my mr2 though..

                      • Time flies when the car is not at your house.

Re rego'd, mk4 rear calipers(bit over a kg each saving), silly wheels to get around on for now, once and for all solved linkage problems, re wired tps and the coilpack harnesses, general service and much fun.

Back in love with it again.
