Mine was built 01/96, registered 4/96 I think... so one of the last.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

Anywhere I can get a decent complete CAI for the beast in Australia or would be better off going ebay US or Germany?

Autobahn have a DRiFT CDA which you can bargain down to about $190 which looks the same as the BMC CDA jobbie.

This autobahn one is made specifically for the VR6 with all the hardware and hoses, filter etc?

Nah, it's a generic jobbie. Not really sure what you will need to be able to fit it. My VR6 came with a pod which I'm looking at replacing with that DRiFT one when I get a little more cash.

The model 'update' was done during 96 so yeah, cars of that year will differ between the old style (+mouldings, rect. side indicator lights) and the new (-mouldings, oval side indicator lights interchangeable with Mk4 I believe).

Nice find though, some of us were talking about that one in another post! I think the 80,000km one you were talking about is located at Padstow (is that near Bankstown?) but is being kept by a dealer at the moment. I wonder how low he would be willing to go if it doesn't sell in a few months ... ... ...

Yeah thats the one, Padstow is next door to Bankstown pretty much. I haven't seen it in person but it looks like a one owner glamour. Just a bit too rich for me Not sure how long he's had it for but if you got it for 10k would be a great buy I reckon.
