    • didnt see your thing before jarred, i actually had put a new pump and sump on a couple weeks earlier, which broke in 1 ****ing day. then these in 3... its retarded. The roads arent that bad and i havent taken any hard hits at all. The amount of swerving i do makes people think im drunk, but I can assure you no more caution could be taken. Maybe i didnt tourque something up right or something and thats why theyve shattered so easy. Both times with the last 2 it has hapened while i was just giving it a push on a straight, flat bit of road, 100% sure i did not hit anything when the light came on...

          • It may not be 30mm, thats a guess, haha. is about an inch lower then the lowest hottunings are meant to go in the front for those who know what height tht is, haha.

Trying to keep motivated, but its hard when the little spare time i now get goes to pulling oil pumps off down on the street every weekend. Theres so much I have to do to this thing to get it to a standard I'll be happy with :/ and now that im working full time and am trying to keep a social life, its hard. Ive been home like 5 hours all week haha.

edit, didnt see your post Rd Runrr

Maybe, i didnt do them that tight though really. I've sheared the end off 2 oil pump driveshafts now too, which I dont think is a common thing to do, I hope I havet bent something somewhere which would be causing that... I have a benty, but no tourqe wrench :/

No point winding it up, as i have no parts to get it going again, so if im goin to get r32 bits, it wont be driven until then.

                    • Today for a change instead of taking the sump off and figuring out oil problems (which i can now do with my eyes closed ive done it so many times...) I got around to putting in a new crackpipe, low temp thermostat and new thermostat housing. Hopefully that will stop the coolant leak ive been dealing with for months and months haha. Just went with a new plastic one, as the old one lasted 17 years, it costs 1/10th as much a a metal one, and really, it only took a couple hours to do it all anyway.

Also measured it all up, and I have to admit I'm not as low as I had been clamining. Sump is about 45-50 mm off the gound, euro lip is about 55mm, forgot to measure the NA one.

                        • **** man, sorry to hear. Would have been good if you wound it up a little to save you this trouble but live and learn eh?
Pretty darned low indeed. My Sump was a AA battery off the ground, I know I scraped a fair few places but overall tried to look after it as best I could. Comes a point where you just gotta wind it up a smidge though

                          GL wiht the car mate!

                          • When even the internet people are suggesting you put it up a bit, you know your car is low Id say im also about an AA battery off. where i measured i wasnt he lowest bit, but ony place i could see a measrment on clearly.

I may put i up a tad, but really with the next sump and pump scraping those should no longer be a issue, will be the subframe or soemthing lik that instead which shouldnt be that much of a problem. Thinner axles and smaller wheels and i may even go lower

                              • I know this photo is in the pic whoring thread, but imma put it here too for the record

Anyway, I decided to invest in an air compressor (a cheap one at that) and so messed around with that a bit

found it really hard to photograph, but basically ported the spare set of manifolds i had laying around out to gasket size, and smoothed them out the whole way through (bought an expensive set of long carbide bits that did wonders ). Have to get the downpipe flanges welded up so i can port that out too. Have read gains of 7-12whp on modified vr6s on the vortex from doing this, but ill be happy if theres any difference I can feel at all.
