  • "RAW" Never noticed that before
You've given me inspiration to blacken some of my plastics up (again)
Out of curiosity, what wax do you use? Or do you just use a combination Polish/Wax mixture.

    Looks awesome

    • Thanks Jace, I didn't use to like the shaved bumper on the mk3 but i'm kinda feeling it now. Bumper is a bit scratched up from the previous owner so yea would be nice to shave it and get it repainted Can't see it happening any time soon though

And yea Ryan I thought the number plate was pretty cool when I got it, friends have named the car mufasa (from the lion king) cuase of the numberplates and cuase its a beast haha, but now it seems every second car I see up here has RAW number plates so its kinda lost its specialness

But yea I'm just using Autoglym super resin polish, it hides swirl marks/light scratches and stuff and works as a sealant, beads water quite nicely really and does look pretty nice. If i had access to a decent polisher id get the scratches/swirls out properly and probably use a real wax or the duragloss sealant stuff, but for the time being im happy with the autoglym stuff.

I'm thinking about repainting the wheels (they arent as nice as they look in the photos) and am toying with the idea of rolling the rear guards and putting some like 15mm spacers in the back, to get a bit of stock wheel stance going haha

            • Do it. Doubt many people before you have put effort into stock BBS 15" fitment.

              • Definitely looks better with smaller tyres on stock VR6 BBS 15's. There are a few in the states but like you said, don't think I've seen any done here.

                • Its quite tempting, I wouldnt want to go much smaller up the front though, with the 205/50/15s and my basically stock engine breaking traction is already quite easy, and i havent even worked the engine... yet. When it comes time for new tyres maybe ill look into getting something a little smaller but will stay with whats on there untill they are like bald, which is a fair way off yet (or atleast I hope, have next to no money with other things higher on the priorities list at the moment)

A few tins of wheel paint couldnt hurt though. If only I had a spare set of wheels

Hey fella, awesome work on the project, especially on such tight funds. Pretty tough coming up through the ranks hey

Car looks awesome, great work on the blue!

I have a second set of wheels you can have, though they have good tyres on them that don't suit me anywhere else. Use the wheels as a project and have some awesome rubber on a second set for if/when you get pulled over, corners and to give oyu time to DIY the other set.

                      PM me

                          • Since my cars nowhere near "hektik enuf" i figured i needed some "doof doof", cuase nothing pulls the birds like doin laps and deafening the town with horrible music right? hahah.

                            anyway, some cheap wood

                            and pretty cables

couple little things are missing though :/

Heard waaaaaaaaay to many horror stories about dodgy installs.
But you probably have a fair idea of what needs done, compared to 'old mate' who wants some DOOF DOOF in his fully sik Excel.

                              • Yea bro now all i need is to put a fart can on and make some dero friends to come yell at old people and I'm living the dream.

haha I'm going for more of a set-up for sound quality rather then making ears bleed, so will just be running a single 10 inch to give the thing a bit mroe punch.

Can assure you nothing will be connected with a slice of cheap electrical tape though. The wiring thats in my car now/half my mates cars almost scares me haha.

Not enjoying the waiting game though for the final little pieces though. Just helped a friend put a set up in which really should be a little less powerfull then what I have coming and it kicks ass.
