I'd suggest to just carefully paint over the face of the headlight, otherwise you'll compromise the delicate coat of chrome which really determines whether you have any output at all

I learnt this the hard way of course...

I didn't, but then I wasn't driving a Golf back then... that and I had the coupon from the Corn Flakes box

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

P's acquired and I've been driving to school lately, but of course not all days with a VR6 are sweet and rosey My driver's side window regulator just carked it on the way, at halfway down! Currently holding it up using a coupla bits of scrunched up paper and I have no idea if it'll last, but what can I do!

Question is, anybody got a place in the Eastern Suburbs where I can grab a new one? I don't really feel like trekking all the way out to Golf Loon's place, even though I really want to!

Forcaz Performance at 57 Glanfield St, Maroubra have a hookup with Electric Life http://www.powerwindows-sydney.communityguide.com.au/, or can source parts from Hanvic South Yarra for you.

Very reasonable labour and careful service. Tell them Reef sent you.

You could also have the regulator diagnosed at Forcaz, then order parts from Loon. He can deliver there for a small freight charge.

So I haven't really been bothered to update this thread since migrating over to VWG.net.au, and this post is shamelessly cross-copied from there aswell, but...

This is the part where everybody on the forum convinces me that buying

                and

is a complete waste of money and that I shouldn't do it because it's such a big waste of money and that money could be wasted much more maturely and constructively, or saved up for an even wiser reason.

If you are into cars to make money go outside and give your car to someone who will enjoy it.

Your car is your hobby, part of you and something to care for. Wasting money and putting time and effort is something that comes with the life style.

You dont have to spend crazy bucks to be cool or have fun. Spend your money wisely and you will go far.

Updates on Watercooled are few and far inbetween, but I'm fairly sure I need to start keeping my "build thread" maintaned from now on...

Just going to put this out there... I really hate you... And that last photo/photoshop looks awesome how it shows what the car looked like in the reflection and how you wanted it to be

Hey just read all your thread, this is great. Good luck with it all.
That thing will stop now haha.

But as waterboy said, Wise with money/parts and you'll be right.
                          What's the goal after P's?

                            WIN!

Hopefully it's a fault free swap for you. Be sure to hit the dyno and post some videos.

                            Goodluck!

Be sure to dyno, I think we've all been waiting for years to see what that engine will produce, not that dyno will do it true justice.
