The swaparoo is so close to completion - the engine is in and has already been started, but we need an adapter plate made up to run the throttle body to the Schrick manifold with the stock Motronic ECU - I need to do this for the moment cause I can't currently afford to run standalone management, so priority #1 is getting it to drive and then running it in!

I've got a few photos and videos of the lot, I'll whack that all up later

Also, anybody have an unused pair of VR6-spec spacers lying around? I need literally a bee's wang of clearance for the big ass calipers, 3mm or something. Let me know!

Throw the calipers at a bench grinder and clearance the calipers themselves?

Do u mean Stock ECU ???

If so, im really interested in the outcome of it handling the motor.

Well it runs, that's an awesome start right? Currently done 450 of the 1000 run-in km's, there's a few problems I see with running the car on stock ECU for longer periods of time and they are as follows:

              - Idle is disgusting. The aggressive cams need about 1000rpm idle (sounds like a brap-brap-brap rotary at 1100, fkn awesome) and the stock ECU is bringing it back down to the regular 680rpm. This makes the car want to stall, sound like a chopper more than anything and shakes the entire thing viciously.

              - Fuel economy is disgusting. In the beginning my MFD was giving me about 22l/100km (and it wasn't bloody lying, emptied half a tank in the first 150) but has slowly started to settle towards 14-16. Better rich than lean though I spose, and better black smoke than blue or white

              - Redline is disgusting. Makes no difference to me while I'm babying it round (haven't gone past 3500rpm yet, and that's when the whole thing starts coming on song) but eventually once I start caning it.... 6500 will come around far too quickly.

Since this has all bled me dry so far I dunno when I'll get it on a proper ECU but at least it runs. Bloody pain to drive it sedately though.

With those cams you probably won't have any power til like 5000 rpm anyway. Do you atleast have that stock ecu chipped to raise the limiter a bit? The fun will only be starting at 6500 :p
