    I miss my vr6 ...

How long since you've driven one Matt? It could be that too I know I'm gonna think my car will be nuts because I haven't driven anything with anywhere near the power.. (lawnmower 1.5l mirage...siiiickkk)

I always remember driving my vr6 after hopping out of my brothers Seat cordoba. Was always a satisfying experience

I probably drive 3 different ones every week mate. I know how they drive and this one is just freaky fast I have lent it to a few people who have also driven lots of Vr6s, Oli, Beau and yesterday Dom and they all agree.

Have you still not got your car back Mickey??

its prob a combination of it being that bit lighter and the engine being that little bit tighter/fresher....

but can you imagine if it was the 2.9l!!! thats 190bhp out of the box right there.....

I'm pretty sure I know the donor car, where did you find it?? One of my mates from Kensington owns (or owned I guess) a grey late model VR6 with the beige leather, but I haven't spoken to him for a few months. What happened to it?

It's an amazing conversion nevertheless, the colour looks awesome and I bet a 2-door VR6 would get those in the know looking more than once! Thinking about selling it once it's done?

I also weighed it the other day and it was 1220 with a tabk of fuel. So probably 1180 with minimal petrol in it.

It was 980ish as a CL. Anyone know what a 5 door VR6 weighs?

That's with the colour concept leather interior. A standard vr6 is probably a smidge lighter. I dont remember how much fuel was in at the time, maybe half a tank or so.

In other news it appears this uber vr6 has made the bay, http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....B:FSEL:AU:1123

I bought the grey donor car at the auction, it was hit on the pasenger side door and quarter panel. It started straight up and looked in great cond pre-accident.

One of my customers told me to buy the car so that he could buy the leather off me.

I used everything else to make the CL great. I love the colour and it has no badges so is an awesome sleeper.

Yup its for sale, I should sell it before I loose my licence.

Currently on ebay. Looking for $9k with a years rego.

Quite tempting actually.. The only two problems are, firstly you said no kids - I'm only 16

Secondly, being under the P-plater rules I'm not allowed to drive anything that needs an engineers cert and I'm assuming this did?

Matt can confirm, but this is a straight engine swap and shouldn't require anything

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

This needed NO engineering. As far a the rta are concerned its a golf and as such is allowed a 1.8, 2L or 2.8L engine.

I simply took the car for an inspection $18 where they checked the engine number and then the RTA changed the papers for free.

The papers say 2.8L with the correct engine number and its insured as a standard VR6. Its indistinguishable from a factory one to all except hardcore golfers.

Cant help you with being so young, you`ll probably grow out of it.
