Will be interesting when 2.0T FSI motors are cheaper. Or even the MKV GT TDI lump... could be a weapon in a light car.
Trouble with the later model stuff is that you need standd alone fuel management as the factory computers need the ecu, clocks and key etc from the donor car. Some even require the convenience modules
For ease of conversion and to avoid blowing the budget, its best to stay plug and play.

Drove this car today to get it inspected and change the engine number and capacity. No dramas there and it cost nothing at the RTA
The thing absolutely hammers. Its the fastest VR6 I have been in.

Nice work Matt, came up tops. What your plans with it? Another daily or flog it off?
Probably sell it, although I lent it to my mate and I may have trouble prising it off him.

What do you mean?
The spoiler is colourcoded, thats it...
If you are refrring to the led in the spoiler, thats an early / late thing, not a GL / VR6 thing.

Noice. I like.
Did it end up getting the whole VR6 front end (including brakes)? Earlier pics show the CL 2 door, later ones appear to have VR6 brakes.
Cheers,
Al..
