Where would you get 2 door electric window regulators from??
They are different to 5 door. Theyd have to come from a cabrio and would be more trouble than the 5 door ones.

          The windups are staying.

Hooked into this today, bolted in the front subframes with the engine and box attached, plugged all the wires in inside and it started first go

Need to put the front on and bleed the brakes and clutch, but it is alive.

It looks great with the BBS and bunged some lowered springs in it too, took some pics, but the camera ran out of juice.

Interior is still in lots of pieces, plenty to do in there!

Impressive mate. Some of the aussies might not know this but owners that had done really great cars in golf+ would apologise if it had 4 doors. The stigma really used to be that bad...

LOL. That's pathetic imo...it's preference and practicality needs. It's not better to have a two door! The only thing they're good to me for is clean looks due to less lines in the panels. Oh, and more even-looking rear windows in relation to the fronts.

Uh Huh, thats why no-one can sell a Mk1 4 door then.
The longer front dorr is better if you are very large or dont have children. I do think the cars look better with 2 doors though.

I agree that the cars look better with 2 doors, but only the looks are nice to me. I'm currently driving one and it just feels weird haha.

Surely it's about the feel and what someone wants...but hey, there's no 2-door VR's here. That's always a plus

This might sound really dumb but what was the reason for not having 3 door gti/vr6s in australia?? while im on the subject, how come the corrado was never sold here? the same reason possible??

But, i agree the project will be sweet when finished...especially with windups!!!

same reason we don't have the new sciroccos... 'cause vw decided it wasn't worth the effort...bastards..

That whole time period was VW free except for a few waif cabrios and T3s because the German Mark was so strong against the aussie dollar.
They still only send a selection fo the models here, chosen by some pr person who know best. Try and buy a manual passat for example.

Yeah the whole you cant buy a 2 door VR, but you can have a 2 door pov pack incites me to go sod ya, I`ll just make one then.
