so today i pulled up the carpets and gave my baby a good clean - you know, see what 15 years has done to the floorpan, etc.
glad to report that the floor is totally rust free and in good condition (my mk3's a '94).
anyway, the tally of "trinkets" from under the carpet goes like this:
2x 8mm ball bearings
1x pencil
1x red pen (not working)
total of just $0.80 AUD
1x small (thumb sized) clay model of what looks like an owl (go figure)
1x marble
2x chocolate wrappers
...the cigarette lighter plug...and
1x japanese coin (small, has a '1' on it and appears to be made of a light alloy)
the last item i guess confirms that my CLi Turbo Diesel was a new car in Japan.... then sold in NZ to the last owners, who brought it to Australia (and thankyou for that!)
while i was there, i removed the old, flat, cotton waste insilation and replaced it with some lighter, plastic backed foam underlay....
altogether a bit of a laugh really
(yeah, i'm easily amused)
